METRONAP

Napping, sleeping, and using time efficiently are very important for people who live in fast-paced cities. According to CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), 35.2% percent of adults in the United States sleep less than 7 hours a day. Such a lifestyle can cause difficulty waking up in the morning. Falling back to sleep after hitting the "snooze" button is sleep fragmentation will cause daytime performance. Therefore I came up with the waking-up aid additional to the alarm clock to help people to wake up in the morning and to get regular sleep patterns. This collection includes a logo, mind map, illustrations, design process, and an eye cover with blue light tested with an app that I created, the alarm clock is fully functional.

LEARNING PROCESS

Here are some sites I used for informations and calculations.

This is my first time getting to know Arduino. I did experiments on combining soft, flexible, and lightweight conductive materials with fabric. I studied Arduino with LED as indicators and tried several simple codes.

The LED alarm eye cover is tested functional with the app I designed. There are a lot of improvements that can be made such as using more flexible material for the circuit and protecting it with water-proof materials, using sturdier and more supportive materials to keep the LED some distance from the eyes...

Some brainstorming for the Metronap serie...
